Horvat to play for Pacific at all-star game

He's not a Vancouver Canuck anymore, but Bo Horvat is still an all-star.

The NHL has confirmed that the former Canucks captain will participate this weekend in South Florida at the NHL's annual gathering of stars for the 2023 all-star weekend.

And even though he's now a New York Islander, a team that plays in the NHL's Metropolitan division, he's going to play for the Pacific Division all-star team, meaning he'll get to be Elias Pettersson's teammate one last time.

Gary Meagher, the NHL's senior executive vice-president of communications, confirmed Horvat's status as a Pacific Division all-star in an email on Wednesday morning.

But whether Horvat's all-star sweater will feature a Canucks or Islanders logo — or perhaps even no team logo at all — on the shoulder isn't clear, as Meagher didn't respond to that particular question.

This is the second career allstar selection for Horvat — he was also picked for the 2017 event.
