2023 Met Gala to fete Lagerfeld

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour announced that next year's Met Gala theme will be the work of Karl Lagerfeld. Taking place on May 1, 2023, the fundraiser will celebrate the couturier who worked at Chanel, Fendi and Chloe. He died in 2019 at age 85. As ever, the theme is borrowed from the accompanying exhibit at the Met's Costume Institute. It will be titled Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty and will gather some 150 of his creations, as well as original sketches. The exhibit runs from May 5 through July 16, 2023.
