HARD TO RESIST

They say: A nail strengthening topcoat product from essie that features a subtle pink tint and promises to provide “instant nail strength and resistance.”

We say: This nail strengthener has become our tester's new go-to. One coat yields a nice shine with a subtle pink tint. Nails felt noticeably stronger. Our tester found this product wore very well, giving nails a nice clear polished appearance that lasted through a beach vacation. $11.99 | Shoppers Drug Mart, shoppersdrugmart.ca

BLEU LAVANDE FOAMING BATH

They say:

A lavender bath product from the Quebec-based brand Bleu Lavande that features lavender essential oil, aloe extracts and vitamin E to soothe and hydrate skin. Made with ingredients of 99.6-per-cent natural origin, the product is billed as certified cruelty free.

We say: Our tester, a diehard bath-goer, was pleased with this product. She reports the scent was soft and relaxing and the bubbles lasted through the duration of the entire bath time. After use, she found her skin softer and hydrated without feeling oily. Unlike some bath products, this one didn't leave a slick in the tub.

VICHY NEOVADIOL REPLENISHING REDEFINING DAY CREAM

They say: A new-and-improved iteration of the Neovadiol line — available for both peri- and post-menopause — the face cream is enriched with omega 3, 6 and 9, cassia extract and niacinamide to replenish lipid loss and improve skin's elasticity.

We say: Our tester, a woman in her 60s, found this cream to be very hydrating on her skin. Boasting a true cream consistency, she found a little went a long way. Whether using just the day cream, or in conjunction with the Neovadiol Replenishing Firming Night Cream, she found her skin felt more moisturized and smooth with use.
