Man injured in May 21 Whalley shooting dies

Homicide investigators have been called in after a man seriously injured in a weekend shooting in Whalley died. Surrey RCMP said shots were fired in the 13700 block of Grosvenor Road shortly before 10 a.m. on May 21. An injured man was taken to hospital. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team on Thursday released the name of the victim to help police identify witnesses and associates. Michael Gordon Brown, 58, of Surrey died in hospital on Wednesday. “Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, not random, and not connected to gang activities,” IHIT Sgt. David Lee said in a news release.
